Step 10 - Migrate to the New IT Support Company

Everything up till now has been about planning, but now comes the actual change. When change happens, it needs to be managed appropriately, and that's where a project manager should be assigned by the Managed Services Provider to ensure the transition happens smoothly, with minimal impact to your business.

It's important that a robust plan is presented to you prior to migration, and that you are happy with all the timeframes, resources and costs, as well as the potential risks. A good project manager will ensure that a suitable framework is applied to the change, and keep everyone informed and on track to meet projected deadlines.


So that's the general process that we use to help companies move to a new IT Support provider, and of course it can be scaled according to the size of the project. Some of it is detailed and difficult, but that makes some of it easy too. The core message is that if you have a complex environment to be supported with a significant IT budget, you want to make sure you get the right IT support at the right price, and you continue to get the right service over the life of the contract.
